GO WEST PROJECT | RESEARCH ON EMERGING CITIES
The Go West Project is multidisciplinary research studio that studies emerging megacities. The project was founded in 2009 by researcher/writer Michiel Hulshof and architect Daan Roggeveen. Over the past years they produced exhibitions, lectures, blogs, (photo) essays, installations, performances, events, architectural designs, urban plans, books and policy proposals. The work of the Go West Project has been widely published in both China and Europe and won various awards. In 2011, Go West published their widely acclaimed book How the City Moved to Mr Sun – China’s New Megacities. Go West works in an international network of writers, designers, architects, researchers and journalists. Its founders lecture at universities in Europe, Asia and the US on a regular basis.
Michiel Hulshof is partner at Tertium, an Amsterdam based office for strategic communication. Daan Roggeveen is the founder of MORE Architecture, Shanghai and curator at University of Hong Kong / Shanghai Study Centre.
